ESG Focus
With the advent of ESG, the oil and gas industry is transitioning to safer, more responsible, and greener solutions. AI’s focus on ESG is specific to the following areas:
Safety
By developing automated equipment, the exposure of personnel to safety hazards is mitigated. By design, automation reduces human exposure to the more labour-intensive operations such as handling pipe, making/breaking connections, drilling, and tripping. Automation provides hands-free solutions for high-risk functions.
Environmental
With a focus on lowering carbon emissions, all of AI’s equipment is available as conventional, mechanically driven machines and complete electrified equipment. This includes natural gas-driven equipment, hybrid power generation, and complete battery power.
Social
AI has partnered with Indigenous partners worldwide on our manufacturing processes and with customers. This further extends to “build-local.” AI designs and manufactures the equipment modules from our headquarters in Canada then sends it in cost-effective lower carbon footprint sea-containers to the respective regions where our customers operate. Rob Wawrzynowski,

FOUNDER
Rob Wawrzynowski is the original founder of AI. His focus on identifying key market drivers and effectively identifying new equipment to meet those needs head on, has allowed Rob to deliver more than $1B of oil and gas equipment worldwide.
Rob has exceptional skills in strategy, product development, sales, marketing, and contract negotiation. Rob is experienced with the unique regional challenges our international customers face and has been able to meet those challenges directly with innovative equipment and support solutions throughout his career.
Kris Zimmermann,
CET
FOUNDER, VP DEVELOPMENT
Kris is VP of Product Development for AI. Accumulating over 28 years of engineering and design leadership along the way, Kris excels at closing the loop between the conception and manufacturing of products.
To date, with twelve commercialize top drives he is arguably the most experienced top drive designer in the industry. He is also a machinery expert with over thirty new oil and gas products under his belt, all successfully working in the field.
Timothy Popik,
P.Eng.
CHIEF ENGINEER
Timothy (Tim) Popik, has over 35 years of oil field manufacturing experience, from his early days developing some of the world’s first top drives, all the way to massive offshore rigs. Tim has been fortunate to be involved in the design and manufacturing of over 700 rigs worldwide. This includes rigs as small as 40-ton and as large as 1000-ton.
Jarret Miller
FOUNDER, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Throughout his 20 years as an accountant, Jarret is known to be a fractional CFO; he is hired by companies in start-up or turnaround mode. Collaborating with companies with limited financial reporting, Jarret is an expert in getting businesses on-track and recharges their accounting systems.
As a legacy Certified Management Accountant (CMA), now Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Jarret loves to solve puzzles. He has a passion for reporting financial statements and is an expert on taxation. To promote his love for accounting, Jarret also serves as a Professor of Accounting at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) School of Business.
